[Case Study] Ceramic Coating with Excellent Non-Stick and Wear Resistance

There are cases where, after several months of use, there is no degradation in performance, and cleaning tasks have become significantly easier than before.

This is a case study from a food company. They were struggling with the burden of cleaning due to product adhesion on molds and transport guides used in the manufacturing process. Among several surface treatments we proposed, they showed interest in a ceramic coating that excels in heat resistance and non-stick properties. After conducting test evaluations, we achieved good results in terms of non-stick performance. As a result, even after several months of use, there was no deterioration in performance, and they were pleased to find that cleaning tasks had become significantly easier than before. [Issues] ■ Excessive material adhesion can lead to defects where products do not meet the specified weight. ■ They had previously adopted fluoropolymer coatings, but these wore out quickly, resulting in low cost-effectiveness. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Surface treatment: PEEK coating (heat resistance, slip resistance, wear resistance)

PEEK coating (heat resistance, slip resistance, wear resistance, high strength, high hardness, chemical resistance, prevention of metal ion leaching, electrical insulation, environmental characteristics)

■Excellent Characteristics 1. Heat Resistance It exhibits the highest heat resistance among resin-based surface treatments, with a continuous use temperature of 260°C. 2. Slip and Wear Resistance Although it is inferior to fluororesin, it has high slip (sliding) properties and superior wear resistance compared to other resin-based treatments. 3. High Strength and Hardness It is the highest in strength and hardness among resin-based treatments. 4. Chemical Resistance It is hardly affected by strong acids and strong alkalis, except for concentrated hydrochloric acid. 5. Prevention of Metal Ion Leaching Peak Coat employs special processing technology to achieve thick film treatment and pinhole-free (no microscopic holes in the material), suppressing penetration and preventing metal ion leaching. 6. Electrical Insulation With a volume resistivity of 10Ω·cm and the characteristics of thick film treatment and materials, it has very high insulation performance. Conversely, for areas requiring conductivity, there is Peak Coat C. 7. Environmental Characteristics Since Peak Coat is composed of carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen, the byproducts during combustion are only carbon dioxide and water, thus not polluting the atmosphere.

Masking compatible! Shine Kōgei's ceramic coating.

Ceramic coatings can be applied to complex-shaped substrates!!

Shine Kogei's ceramic coating technology "Cera Armor" boasts superior film properties compared to conventional fluororesin processing. However, the processing steps themselves are almost the same as those for fluororesin processing. After degreasing, surface treatment, painting, and firing, a high-hardness film is formed. Since it involves spray gun painting, coating of complex-shaped substrates and the inner diameters of pipes is also possible. Partial processing through masking is also available. ◆ Inquiries ◆ When making an inquiry, it would be helpful if you could provide the following information for a smoother process: 1. The nature of the substrate to be coated (material, shape, size, etc.) 2. The purpose of the coating (e.g., non-stick properties, chemical resistance, slip properties, etc.) 3. Usage conditions (e.g., temperature, chemicals, wear conditions, etc.) * If possible, providing drawings would be helpful for estimating costs.

Gas nitriding treatment service

We offer gas soft nitriding treatment with low processing temperature and minimal distortion.

Our company conducts gas soft nitriding treatment, which involves heating in an atmosphere of "ammonia gas + N2 + CO2" at 560 to 580°C for 2 to 5 hours to achieve effective nitriding in a short time. This method, which simultaneously allows the diffusion of (M) and (C), is accurately referred to as gas carburizing nitriding. However, due to the low treatment temperature of 570°C, the infiltration of (C) is minimal, resulting in a significant nitriding effect from the infiltration of (N). 【Features】 ■ Applicable to all types of steel ■ Minimal nitriding unevenness and no surface roughness ■ Short processing time of 5 to 10 hours ■ Prevention of nitriding ■ Improvement in corrosion resistance due to the prevention of nitriding; the compound layer formed on the surface of the nitrided layer is dense and less prone to porosity, leading to further enhancement of corrosion resistance. *For more details, please feel free to contact us.

Functional Coating: Shine Craft's Sera Armor and Blue Armor

Ceramics demonstrate effects greater than fluoride! Surface treatment, which has been difficult until now, is possible with Shine's CerArmor and BlueArmor!

Shine Kogei has developed a coating material called "Cera Armor," which is primarily composed of ceramics! It possesses properties superior to fluorine and can be applied to substrates that were previously unsuitable for fluorine coatings. Please give it a try on processing substrates such as resins, engineering plastics, and glass that you may have given up on fluorine coatings! Features of "Cera Armor": ■ Can be fired at low temperatures from room temperature to 200°C ■ Usable on resin products and other materials besides metals ■ Heat resistance is over 100°C higher than fluorine coatings ■ Release and water-repellent properties are almost equivalent to fluorine coatings ■ Pencil hardness of 9H! High durability and long lifespan ★ For those seeking fluorine processing, we recommend "Blue Armor," which specializes in corrosion resistance! It protects substrates from strong acids and strong alkalis, allowing for the replacement of expensive metal piping with SS400 piping. Regular inspections are also conducted! On-site repairs can be performed as needed. Examples of "Blue Armor" applications: ■ Manufacturing equipment in petroleum plants (approximately 14 years) ■ Sulfuric acid concentration devices (approximately 6 years) ■ Reaction devices using dilute hydrochloric acid (approximately 20 years) ■ Semiconductor device components (supplied for over 10 years)

Shine Craft: Ceramic Coating for Resin and Engineering Plastics

Formation of a high-hardness ceramic coating on resin and engineering plastic parts through low-temperature firing by Shine Kōgei.

Conventional fluororesin coatings require high-temperature firing at 400°C, making it difficult to process materials other than metals. However, Shine Kogei's ceramic coating "Cera Armor" can form a film at low temperatures, allowing the functionality of ceramics to be imparted to materials with low heat resistance, such as resins and engineering plastics. This contributes to the long lifespan of sliding components and provides chemical resistance and corrosion prevention effects, thereby reducing total costs. 【Processing Achievements】 ■ ABS (sensor components) ■ PET (transport components) ■ PVC・POM (food equipment parts) ■ PC (electronic device housings) ■ PEEK (jigs) ■ FRP (transport equipment exteriors) ■ CFRP (roll components) ■ Glass epoxy (jigs) ■ PP, MC nylon, polyamide, etc. ◆ Regarding Inquiries ◆ When making an inquiry, it would be helpful to provide the following information for a smoother process. 1. Properties of the material to be processed (material, shape, size, etc.) 2. Purpose of processing (e.g., removal of contaminants, slip properties, peening, etc.) * If possible, providing drawings would be helpful for estimating costs.

Non-stick property provided by ceramic coating.

Leave the release of molten resins and other strong adhesives to Shine Craft's "Cera Armor"!

The semi-liquid melted resin has strong adhesive energy and sticks to molds and manufacturing equipment. Generally, fluoropolymer coatings are applied, but due to the strong adhesive nature of the material, there are voices expressing that the wear and functional degradation of the coating occur quickly. In such cases, we recommend Shine Kogei's ceramic coating "Cera Armor." Thanks to its high non-stick properties and high hardness coating, users have reported that "the lifespan has increased compared to fluoropolymer coatings, and downtime due to maintenance has decreased." 【Cera Armor Coating Properties List】 1. Wear resistance (pencil hardness 9H), 2. Release properties, 3. Slipperiness, 4. Heat resistance, 5. Water and oil repellency, 6. Insulation, 7. Corrosion resistance, 8. Rust prevention, 9. Dirt resistance, 10. Antibacterial properties, 11. Far infrared effect, etc. 【Track Record of Release Properties Against Resins】 Urethane, PET, PP, Epoxy, etc.

Ceramic Coating for Industrial Rolls [Shine Kogei]

Non-stick and slippery properties provided by ceramic coating "Sera Armor".

Shine Kogei's "Cera Armor" is a functional coating that adds value such as release properties and wear resistance to the base material. It possesses physical properties superior to fluororesin and can form a high-hardness ceramic coating on resins, engineering plastics, glass, wood, and other materials that could not be treated with fluororesin. Cera Armor is also adopted for rolls that have issues with material adhesion. Thanks to Cera Armor's excellent release properties, it prevents adhesion to the surfaces of rolls containing resins, films, foils, and adhesives. It also contributes to reducing manufacturing time and labor in production lines. Cera Armor can be applied to metals in general, including SUS, aluminum, and SS.
